Baby Genie ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Baby Genie mobile application ("App") and website ("Site"). By using Baby Genie, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use Baby Genie, you may provide the following types of information:

  • Profile Information: Your name and baby's name (optional, stored locally on your device only).
  • Pregnancy Data: Expected delivery date, pregnancy week, and related health tracking information.
  • Cycle Data: Menstrual cycle dates and period information for fertility tracking.
  • Prediction Data: Mother's date of birth and conception/delivery dates used for gender predictions.
  • Partner Information: Partner code for the partner matching feature.
  • Chat Messages: Questions you ask the Ask Genie AI assistant.
  • Baby Names: Names you favorite or match with your partner.
  • Appointments: Prenatal appointment details you choose to track.
  • Checklist Items: Baby preparation checklist data.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for ensuring compatibility.
  • Subscription Status: Information related to your premium subscription status, managed through RevenueCat and Apple App Store / Google Play Store.
  • Usage Data: Basic app usage patterns to help us improve the app experience.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your email address, phone number, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it via our contact form.
  • We do not require account creation or sign-in to use the app.
  • We do not collect location data.
  • We do not collect photos or access your camera or photo library.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

3.1 Local Storage

The majority of your personal data is stored locally on your device only using AsyncStorage. This includes your profile, predictions, cycle data, favorites, appointments, checklist items, and reminders. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

3.2 Cloud Services

The following data is processed through cloud services:

  • Ask Genie Chat: Messages you send to the Ask Genie AI assistant are transmitted to OpenAI's servers for processing. These messages are used solely to generate responses and are subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We do not store your chat history on our servers.
  • Subscription Management: Your subscription status is managed through RevenueCat and the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Payment information is handled entirely by the app stores — we never see or store your payment details.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide gender predictions based on the Chinese Gender Calendar method.
  • Calculate optimal conception windows for family planning.
  • Track your pregnancy progress week by week.
  • Monitor your menstrual cycle and fertile windows.
  • Provide AI-powered responses to your baby and pregnancy questions.
  • Enable baby name matching with your partner.
  • Manage your premium subscription.
  • Improve the app's functionality and user experience.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared only in these limited circumstances:

  • AI Chat Processing: Chat messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
  • Subscription Processing: Subscription data is shared with RevenueCat and Apple/Google for payment processing.
  • Voluntary Sharing: When you use the share feature to share prediction results with others.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

6. Children's Privacy

Baby Genie is designed for parents and adults who are expecting or planning to have children. The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at babygenie22@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • Most data is stored locally on your device, giving you full control.
  • Communications with our servers use HTTPS encryption.
  • We do not maintain user accounts or databases of personal information.
  • Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple and Google's secure systems.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete Your Data: You can delete all your data at any time using the "Delete My Data" button in the Profile tab. This permanently removes all locally stored information.
  • No Account Required: Since we don't require account creation, there is no account to delete.
  • Manage Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings.
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
